USA map of gas prices by area

This specific map allows people to view gas prices nationwide in a single map projection. Areas are color coded depending on the price of regular unleaded gasoline. This is interesting because the cost per gallon is greatest in California. I have never thought that California had the highest gas prices. I always assumed that other states had it worse. Gas prices as of now at least in Los Angeles is skyrocketing to over $4 per gallon for unleaded gasoline. Los Angeles is actually notorious for its high traffic highways. It is amazing to see that gas prices are extremely high and still rising but people still choose to drive.
